What’s On Your Mind?
May 6, 2008 — lrubin39As it relates to thinking, there seem to be two general categories of people: thinkers and non-thinkers.
Some people are constantly thinking. It seems their minds are running a mile a minute. They are planning, choosing, and reminiscing about anything and everything. Then, there are the non-thinkers, those that come across as if their minds only work if you put a token in it. When you look at them or try to talk to them, you’re met with this cold, emply stare.
I fall into the first group. I am constantly thinking–about anything and everything. One of my goals is to do a better job of giving my mind a break. Thinking too much (doing ANYTHING too much) is not good for you!
Here’s what I’m curious to find out…what do you spend most of your “thinking time” thinking about?
In other words, what occupies your thoughts most? Are you thinking about current circumstances, memories of the past, future visions? Are thinking about victory or defeat? Problems or fantasies? Friends, family or enemies?
I once heard that, though we are physically limited by time and space, our minds are completely free to go wherever they desire to go.
Once again, what’s on your mind?

A.D.I.D.A.S - All Day I Dream About Sex. (It was true for me in the eighties, and it is still true for me!) LOL

You ask an interesting question. I think my breakdown would go something like this:
50% bills and chores
20% fantasizing about life without bills and chores
20% trying to understand current events
10% thinking about happy and peaceful things

I like what sassy says…lol
I am more of a relaxed kind of person, that takes the day as it comes. Why worry about things, it just leads to health problems.

I’m definitely a thinker. That isn’t always a good thing. Sometimes my thoughts get pretty dark (not murder dark, just a melancholy dark). I think that’s why I enjoy watching fun t.v. and reading fun books. I need an escape from my thoughts.
I spend most of my time thinking about when I will discover my true purpose; when am I going to be able to buy a house; if a recently broken friendship will ever be repaired; why the heck would Mariah marry Nick Cannon; and do I really WANT to get married and have kids. I know that’s a weird combo but I’m a little twisted. LOL

I am constantly thinking about EVERYTHING. Most of the time I’m thinking about my challenges that I’m facing. This is very tiring and even painful for my body. So for me, thinking can be stressfu;l and although I’m not acting it out, it’s being manifested through how achy I am and all of the weight I gained.

I think about my business mostly, and how I can improve it.
I then think of my employees, and all the stuff they come to me with on a daily basis.
I wonder why they cant come to work on time, and why they are on time on payday..
In essence, I guess Lee, all I do is think about work..
My brain does take a rest on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays though..lol

and then I think about gardening..and my flowers.
i think about the placements in the garden. which vegs I am going to try new this year. Should I plant a garden to feed the world…..lol….. those type of things.
I am finding that when I think of stuff that irriates me, or causes me enormous stress, or pain, I can block it out immediately.
I do wonder about things though, but by the end of that thought, I have already placed a label on it such as
*not important*
*think about this lata*
*Gotta do by tomorrow - top priority*
or my latest..
*He/she is crazy anyway*…lol

from what i understand, the brain is never void of thought. but i do get your point; some of us spend more time analyzing and pondering SPECIFIC things than others. i make this distinction because i find that i fall somewhere in between “thinker/non-thinker”, in that i recognize that i am always thinking, but depending on WHAT enters my mind will determine HOW MUCH thought I give it.
when certain things enter my mind, i have a hard time letting them go and will think about them NON STOP (to the point where i cannot function at a normal level) until i come to some sort of resolution about it; others (that may even be significant to others) i don’t give a second thought about and can come off as aloof about it.
lately, i have found that i spend the majority of my “thinking” time analyzing how i should be spending my time!!! LOL recently i have been trying to work on time management in my life and prioritizing and reprioritizing each day because there are so many things i want (and have) to do, but i just don’t have enough time for all of it…

I think about what’s next? How do I take my career or personal goals to the next level? Do family and friends understand that if I make a move it’s not to offend them or to shake them up but it’s about not being complacent?
When I am not thinking about that - I think about sex.
